In Outlaws where do you aim..the head, the chest, the arms, or legs. Just wondering .. I aim basically anywhere from waist up. I heard that a shot in the foot counts just as much as a shot in the head. Does anyone know about where is the best place to hit someone in Outlaws and the best place to aim?

Good question I always aim for the chest area. I am not really sure if it makes a difference but I would like to think that it does

i aim at different points on different characters. james, bob, mary, and chief i aim for their private parts. two shots with a rifle to james, bob, and chief to the private takes them down fast. mary is a bit different though, cause sometimes two shots will do it and sometimes it takes three, her spot is hard to hit in my opinion. doc i aim for the head and jack i aim anywhere on him, cause he's weak.

I don't really think it makes a difference, for my whole playing career I have just tried to hit them anywhere, if I hit them then that's good, all that matters is if you hit them somewhere, but I heard if you hit them in the shoulder then it knocks them off, because some people I think hit me in the shoulder, and it knocks your aim off, but I always just aim probably in the middle, because I don't move up and down much when I'm strafing so I stay at a pretty even level I think. But I don't think it makes a difference where ya hit um, I've heard some people say head shots work better, but I really think outlaws is too old of a game to have that, outlaws is strictly all shots are even I think, hehe but If I found out differently I would be even better hahahha!

For the record: The most modern games just refined their "hit areas", shoot em in the legs, they won't be able to run, headshots kills right away, handshot effects your aiming etc. Helmets protect you against headshots and so do vests against body shots. They are even tweaking it back now because of the headshots people made with aimbots. Now this "Hit Area" feature can only excist on a 3D engine, where you make a wireframe of the character with implemented hitareas. You assign area specific hit values, for the head and spine the highest values. To reflect this on Outlaws.... The outlaws Engine is the same as the Dark Forces engine which came out in 1995, made by Lucasarts. If you wonder why objects and characters look like cards when you walk around them that's because this ain't a real 3D - engine. This is one of the first Firstperson shooter engines, with 2D technology; therefor not equiped with Hit Area features. What it DOES have on the other hand is Registry configured character specific values like MASS(weight), Air_Accel_X(speed), Air_Accel_Z(Jumpspeed), AND for this subject DAMAGE_MULT(this is how much a person can take. The lower the number, the more he/she can take (Nash is the lowest, Sanchez is the highest). What they COULD include is what we all know the front and back area (remember the characters looking like cards?). If we take a boilerplate we all know it increases our damage mult to keep it technical. But that boilerplate only increases the Damage Mult for the front area, excludes the backarea. This is what BURN basically said, hit mary in the back no matter if she got a Heavy boilerplate, she dies within a close distance with 1 shot. But for the rest? It doesn't make any difference if you hit them in the head or foot or in their private parts as Listerine mentioned.
